Spencer Bros (1903) Brassington Ltd is a family owned Company who specialise in the supply of Graphite and Refractory products both to UK and International markets.

The Spencer family have been operating from the original site in Brassington, Derbyshire since the year 1903 and pride ourselves on being able to deliver excellent quality products and services to our customers for varying applications. Transportation

In the past Spencer Bros has always outsourced our delivery and collection requirements to third party haulage contractors. However, in 2012 Spencer Bros took the decision to purchase our own HGV vehicle and employed a dedicated driver so that we could arrange delivery & collection of our products all in-house. This decision was taken primarily in an effort to help reduce costs and to assist us with prompt and urgent deliveries to our customers. By having our own vehicle we are able to deliver at very short notice and in a prompt and timely manner, sometimes outside normal business hours or at weekends!

Spencer Bros recognise that not all Companies have the facilities, floor space or plant machinery to load and unload shipping containers. Therefore, if you are shipping goods overseas that need to be loaded into a container or receiving goods from overseas that have arrived in a container we can assist with your loading/unloading requirements. We can also store your goods on site during the transition period and arrange UK delivery, if required.

Rock Salt

Spencer Bros, like many other Companies and individuals, were caught out by the harsh unexpected wintry weather we experienced a couple of years ago. The snow and ice caused havoc for the UK economy and businesses and Rock Salt was in short supply. Therefore, we decided to include Rock Salt in our portfolio.

The Rock Salt can be supplied in 20kgs bags, loose in bulk bags or tipper loads if larger quantities are required. Other packaging options are available depending on your specific requirements.

Ganister

Our Ganister has been milled at our Overfields Quarry site for over 100 years and we are very proud of the fact that we still use the traditional Ganister mill used by our founders for the production of this material. The Ganister is used in a variety of applications but typically for furnace repair work, relining and repairing of ladles and cupolas. The product is normally light grey in colour but Graphite dust can be added if you require a darker appearance.

We supply a variety of different grades from smooth to course depending on the customer specification. The Ganister is typically supplied in bags, shrink wrapped onto a pallet or supplied loose.

Graphite Waste collection

Spencer Bros offers a UK and International Graphite waste disposal service. We are a registered Waste carrier with the local UK issuing authority, Environment Agency waste carrier licence no. CB/PE5452UZ, and have all our necessary permits in place to transport the waste.

If you have any surplus Graphite or Graphite waste, for example, Graphite Electrodes, Graphite lump, dust or scrap that is free from contamination we will purchase this for use in our own production plant. This is providing that after sample analysis the chemical composition of the waste is within a suitable tolerance and payment is depending on a number of variables such as market conditions, location etc.

Graphite

Spencer Bros have over 30 years’ experience in supplying a wide range of Graphite products including Natural Flake, Amorous and Synthetic in a range of particle sizes from lump form to dust. The Graphite is carefully selected from primary feedstock and processed at our own manufacturing & processing site in Brassington, Derbyshire. We operate using strict quality control procedures to ensure compliance with customer specification and end use application.

The Graphite is typically supplied in bags and shrink wrapped onto a pallet but other packaging options are available such as loose in bulk bags and octobins.
